First Nations Trade Agreements & Economic Rights Roundtable
The Chiefs of Ontario Economic Development Sector is organizing a virtual First Nations Trade Agreements and Economic Rights Roundtable on February 26th, 2026.
The roundtable will be a political and legal inventory of what First Nations rights and provisions currently exist in international trade agreements, and how the future negotiations can impact First Nations economic rights.
Speakers will include representatives from CIRNAC, ISC, I-Trade, and Dr. Jane Kelsey from the University of Auckland who works with the Māori communities in New Zealand to speak on Tiriti-based approaches to trade negotiations in Aotearoa New Zealand.
