Housing Sovereignty Summit

NEW DATE: October 14, 2021 (9-5 ET)

The Housing Sovereignty Summit is an opportunity for First Nations to consider an Ontario-specific strategy to transfer authority over housing from government agencies to First Nations. This engagement session will include presentations from First Nations housing experts, a keynote speaker, and breakout discussions to facilitate dialogue amongst First Nations leadership and technicians. Feedback and recommendations from the Housing Sovereignty Summit will form the basis of a roll-up report to be delivered to the Chiefs-in-Assembly.

Who should attend:

  • Chiefs or their representative,

  • First Nations organizations or technicians,

  • Other non-government entities involved in First Nations housing and infrastructure.

Location: Virtually via Zoom.

Housing Workshop Series: ‘What We Heard” – Preliminary Report

This report highlights the discussions that took place during the COO’s workshop series, which represented the first step in engaging communities to determine the best path forward for Ontario, in order to inform future discussions including the upcoming Housing Sovereignty Summit (October 14, 2021).
