Save the Date

The Chiefs of Ontario Justice Sector will be hosting a meeting for First Nations Leadership and technicians and First Nations law enforcement, on the impending Federal Policing Legislation that is meant to recognize First Nations policing as an essential service.

This will include a legal presentation by Kent Elson (Elson Advocacy) and an open forum to discuss perspectives and priorities for the legislative development process. Feedback and input shared during this session may be summarized and submitted to Public Safety Canada and the Assembly of First Nations, subject to guidance from the meeting participants. An update will also be provided on Ontario’s new Community Safety and Policing Act.
